If you want to SUP you should go with Paddle Method. Tim Sanford is an awesome paddle board teacher, his customer service is amazing, and he is a really fantastic guy. I found Paddle Method on Yelp on a Friday afternoon and was on the SUP in a class by 8am Saturday. I just went out on one of his weekend paddle boarding tours of Paradise Cove in Malibu and it is one of my favorite things I have done in the 10+ years of living in Southern California. My boyfriend and I went on the Wed. moonlight outing, and it was great fun! They have many many styles of boards, and as it was our first time we got the massive stable ones, which I was happy with. It was a mix of advanced people and beginners, and they gave us a quick lesson before going out. Tim was gave me some really helpful hints after I got my balance. He is a great teacher! The marina is beautiful. I will go again. Every Angelino should try it at least once. It’s another side of the city out there.Icacosgrrl C

I was really nervous to try stand up paddle boarding because I had never done it before, and I am not very athletic, but I received a terrific lesson and the instructors were very friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and super patient. Most importantly, I felt totally safe taking a lesson with this group and it was a blast. When I fell behind the group, the instructor Tim stayed with me and encouraged me to continue, and taught me helpful skills, With Tim’s help, I persevered, and I was finally able to catch up with the group. Tim is an awesome paddle board instructor. Although I have been paddle boarding for a while and I live and breathe the water, Tim’s techniques have helped me improve my paddle boarding tremendously. I am a much more efficient paddler now, in better shape, and can paddle further and longer on a board than ever before thanks to his paddle techniques classes. If you are in the LA area or even from Orange County like I am, do one of his Malibu or Palos Verdes tours, they are awesome!
