Hello Paddlers!

It’s been another great summer season and we’re well into Fall (still feels like summer, though!) and with that comes the daily workday grind and a Holiday season fast approaching.

With the LA paddle community growing by leaps and bounds and more paddlers looking to up their stroke game, I am proud to announce Paddle Method’s POWER PADDLE training classes!

Ever want to master a pivot turn? Prep for your first race or do better in your next race? Planning a paddling holiday and want to be ready for any conditions?

Then Paddle Method’s Power Paddle training classes are what you’ve been waiting for and you can get it all before you go off to work. It’s the better kind of board meeting and 75 minutes of hard charging fun on the water.

Get fit while you get ready for an ocean adventure, finally start SUP surfing and, maybe podium in your first race!

Each class is 75 minutes and includes all necessary gear plus:

  • Speed Coach
  • Video stroke analysis
  • Strava GPS app so that you can track and compare your times on a variety of fun Power Paddle routes

Each Power Paddle class will focus on a different area aimed to keep each class fun and challenging.

POWER PADDLE (sample schedule)

Power Paddle Tempo(Tuesday 7:30am – 8:45)

Goals: Increase conditioning by paddling 20 minutes at a sustained high tempo.
Description:The tempo workout is a key to increase paddle endurance. This class will focus on a 20 minute group up-tempo paddle. That means you will be paddling hard but not too hard. Once the tempo session is complete we will take an easy recovery paddle and practice some SUP skills.

Power Paddle Interval (Thursday 9am – 10:15)

Goals: Increase conditioning by paddling high-intensity interval (sprint) training.
Description:Interval training is one of the best ways to increase speed. This class will focus on paddling a series of high-intensity intervals followed by low-intensity recovery periods. Once the interval session is complete we will take an easy recovery paddle and practice some SUP skills.

Also, we will be hosting a SUP Derby day so you can test your board handling skills and stamina. It’ll probably be the most fun thing you’ve done on the water — look for dates to be announced!

**Intermediate and Advanced paddlers: Check out the Paddle Method homepage for wind and conditions reports so if you pick up one of our 360 Go Anywhere boards and want to paddle in Santa Monica Bay by yourself or with a group you’ll know wind and wave conditions before you go!

Remember We’re Open Everyday Saturday and SUNDAY all year long at Mothers Beach or Call for an appointment.  Come down to the white tent at mothers beach in Marina del Rey at 14110 Palawan way and grab a board and go for a paddle.
