Stand‑Up Paddle Board Rentals in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles

 reservation is the best way to guarantee that we will be able to accommodate you. We do accept walk-ins when equipment is available (call or text first to confirm 310-770-7291 especially mid-week / off season), but a reservation is recommended for weekends and larger parties.

To paddle, someone 18+ years old must be out on the water with each group. We do not have an age limit on who can paddle the boards, but there is a skill requirement  - we do get boat traffic and an afternoon sea breeze - it is recommended that children under the age of 10 ride with a skilled adult.

Less is more! A way to track your time, sunscreen, a hat / sunglasses, a whistle are suggested items while on the water. We recommend that you dress for an outdoor workout for the weather on the day. Fyi Marina del Rey tends to stay warmer than the surrounding areas. Our boards have straps to tie down items but we do not recommend bringing anything that is not waterproof (e.g. phone, car keys, wallet). You must have your own dry bag and phone case. If you don’t then it’s better to leave items in your car or under staff supervision

There are no lockers available for rentals at Paddle Method. During your paddle, we are happy to hold your car keys, phones, shoes under employee supervision during your paddle. Anything valuable should be locked in the car.

We offer SUP Lessons, 1,2, and 3 (Lesson 1 Marina, Lesson 2 Wind, Wakes,  and Workouts, Lesson 3 Ocean Waves and beach launch) 7 days a week! Lessons MUST be booked at least 24 hours in advance so that we can schedule an instructor for you. Additionally, we have a SUP discovery lesson which is great for kids (must be accompanied by and adult), or Adults who want to have an introduction to SUP and are comfortable being on the water alone (must be able to swim and self-rescue)

Yes! We do offer off-site rentals but you must have a way to transport equipment. SUP Surf boards will require car racks - most are too big to fit into a car or SUV, Highly suggested to take advantage of our inflatable SUP rentals “Grab and Go iSUPs!” - they can fit in the trunk of a car and come with a pump so you can inflate when and where you choose to paddle - note: boards must be returned deflated. For an additional charge delivery is available but seasonal restrictions may apply

We recommend paddling in the earlier hours of the day to avoid the afternoon sea breeze and boat traffic if you are a beginner or prefer a mellow paddle. Checkout our Lesson 1 - Marina maneuvers if you’re new to paddling in busy marinas. Marina del Rey is a beautiful place to paddle and has over 4.500 boats to check out. Lessons are suggested if you’re new to paddling or even new to paddling around Marina traffic.  Afternoons are great too but you may have wind and boat traffic (especially on weekends in the Summer). We suggest our Lesson 2 Wind, wakes, and Workout techniques so you can paddle anytime with confidence!
