Paddle Method is committed to providing a safe paddle experience for all paddlers. We use high quality paddle gear and instructional practices so that paddlers of any level can learn new skills and build upon their existing skillset so that paddlers of all abilities can enjoy our waterways confidently. Paddling provides customers with much needed sunlight, physical and mental health exercise during this time of increase stress and anxiety. Sunlight is an excellent natural source of vitamin D, which has many purported health benefits, including an increased resistance to infectious diseases.
Paddle Method is committed to our Community’s health first.
Paddle method has put these procedures in place to help keep our employees, customers, and their families safe and reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. These procedures follow the science and public health orders. These procedures are guided by facts and recommendations from credible scientific and medical sources and comply with county and state public health orders. These procedures will be monitored daily to keep up today with LA county and State of California guidelines (i.e. mask wearing, sanitation). This document will be made available to our employees, customers and on-site at the beach for anyone’s request and review.
Prior to Arrival
All Paddlers must schedule, pay, and sign our waiver and health check questionnaire online. The following questions are included in the health screening questionnaire:
*Paddlers will wait in their cars until their scheduled time begins – no congregating at pick up area
All paddlers must wear a face mask or covering (i.e. gator) while on the beach
Rental and Damage Liability Waiver
I hereby agree that by renting any equipment from Paddle Method, LLC, I accept liability for any damages or injury that may occur while using any of the equipment- regardless of its condition- rented from Paddle Method, LLC. By signing this agreement I understand that I am waiving my right to bring a court of action to recover compensation or obtain any other remedy for any injury to myself, my property, or my death, however caused, arising out of my use of any equipment from Paddle Method, LLC. I understand that there are inherent risks associated with water sports.
I understand that equipment and safety devices are provided for my use (such as the leash). I understand that Paddle Method, LLC does not provide a personal flotation device (PFD). If I feel that I need a PFD it is my responsibility to provide my own. I agree that I will be solely responsible or proper use of safety and other equipment and procedures. It is my responsibility to inspect all equipment. I, the undersigned user-or guardian of user-HEREBY RELEASE on behalf of myself, my heirs, representatives, managers, successors, executors and administrators of Paddle Method, LLC its officers, agents, and employees from any cause of action, claims, or demands whatsoever including, but not limited to, a claim of negligence.
I also agree that if equipment is damaged, lost or misplaced that I rent from Paddle Method, LLC I will pay for the losses or damages. I agree that if Paddle Method, LLC incurs any cost associated with recovery of payment for damages or losses (such as court costs, collection costs and/or attorney costs) that I will reimburse or pay Paddle Method, LLC for these costs as well as the cost of the damaged items.
It is solely the discretion of Paddle Method, LLC to determine if damaged equipment will be repaired or replaced at the renter’s expense.
I (renters) am responsible for ensuring all equipment is properly used and attached.
Paddle Method, LLC. I understand that the terms of this agreement are legally binding and I certify that I am signing this agreement, after having carefully read it, of my own free will.
First-Timer: No or limited paddling experience with no formal lesson.
Beginner: Some flatwater paddling skills: ability to turn and stop, launch and land. Some rough water experience: ability to manage small boat wakes, maintain board control in wind up to 12mph.
Intermediate: Some ocean paddle skills and/or moderate moving current: comfortable launching in 3’ surf and/or moderate moving currents. Demonstrates advanced board control skills: acceleration, advanced turns, board walking.
Advanced: At least 2 years of paddling experience. Comfortable with large wind waves to 3’ surf and/or fast moving current.
